A Danish Anniversary Tradition

Here’s a lovely tradition that we hadn’t heard of before! In Denmark people celebrate 12.5 years of marriage. Being the halfway mark to 25, it sure is a reason to celebrate.

M brought his and his wife’s rings to us, to build a thin ring to join onto their existing rings. These new rings, which are made in white gold to contrast their yellow gold rings, are placed on one side only, and the idea is to add the other side when they reach 25 years of marriage.

Getting help to visualise using one of our sample rings.

M made this as a surprise for his wife, but given the shape of her ring, he had to sneak it down to us so that we could join the new piece straight onto her ring.

As good as new and ready for the renewal of vows!

Happy 12.5 to you both!

Update: Here are some lovely shots from their ceremony
