Gemstones come in a variety of colours and it can be difficult to choose which one you want to use when you are making your own jewellery. Birthstones are gemstones with symbolism or meaning assigned to each month, so that you have a special stone for you. Birthstones are especially common to commemorate a new child, but can also be used as a personal option in jewellery for yourself, as well as in engagement and wedding rings. Here are a few different ways that we have incorporated birthstones into our custom jewellery projects.
An anniversary Toi et Moi ring made using the birthstones of husband and wife. working with the shapes of each stone, we set them on an open ring. The colours of the gemstones are complemented well by the lighter tone of Original white gold.Colourful ring with birthstones for each member of the family. The stones are of different shapes and sizes, just like the individuals they represent, and the asymmetrical design blends them together nicely.
Anniversary bangle in the making. Birthstones and heartbeats of all 4 of their children are spaced along the bangle – birthstones on the outside and engraved heartbeats on the inside. Here we are checking the placement of birthstones to match the heartbeats on the inside. This little baby was born in May, so her mum made this ring using the May birthstone Emerald with additional green gemstones in various shapes and sizes.Proposal ring from her to him – his and her birthstones together with the birthstone representing the month they met. The placement of the stones is based on their respective hometowns and the place they met – Singapore.
