The Brief
For this custom designed engagement ring, the brief was Futuristic Wonder Woman. A different look from a traditional engagement ring, but with the weight and seriousness required of a proposal ring. We sketched through a lot of different styles in the process, but when we got to this, we knew it was the one. It is a beautiful vintage-yet-modern ring fit for a real-life Wonder Woman.
The Gemstone
V knew that he wanted a ring with a Peridot, so we tried a few different shapes and sizes before we landed with this design and stone. We set a Marquise cut Peridot as a centrepiece and cut out ‘windows’ on the sides to add some detail while keeping the ring solid. During the design process, we cut the shape out in paper to make sure it would look good. We all liked how it somehow reminded us of Peranakan tiles – and super heroes at the same time. Old-school and futuristic, both at once (just like Wonder Woman).
The Wedding Ring
When they came back for wedding rings, M wanted hers to sit well together with the engagement ring, so we curved it around and made a fold instead of a simple v-shape. It looks great on its own as well as in combination with the engagement ring.
Even the wedding ring is something Wonder Woman would definitely wear. Wouldn’t you agree?
