Keeping your jewellery in good shape
Diamonds may be forever but that doesn’t mean that jewellery items can handle all kinds of wear and tear. Even a well crafted setting can get bent if knocked, so please do think about when and where you wear your jewellery. We recommend to take your rings off for housework and sports, to avoid damaging them, especially if they are set with stones.
Silver tarnishes easily, especially in the tropics, so make sure you wipe them clean before storing and do not keep them in your bathroom, as the humidity will speed up the tarnishing.
If you are wearing pearls, make sure that you put your perfume on before the pearls, as they can dull from chemicals.

Cleaning your jewellery
There are plenty of hacks to be found on the web, but don’t try toothpaste, baking soda or other abrasive solutions as they can damage your gemstones. If you happen to have an ultra-sonic machine, do only use it for your diamond jewellery. Other gemstones can break from the pressure. Don’t forget to check your jewellery after – diamonds can come loose from the vibration.
Brush your jewellery gently with the soapy water.
Toothbrush and dishwashing liquid is a safe and easy way to clean your jewellery. Soak your jewellery in warm water with a drop of dishwashing liquid in a cup or bowl for a few minutes to loosen up any dirt. Then use a soft toothbrush to gently brush the dirt off, similar to teeth. Dirt often gets stuck under/behind the stones, so make sure you get in there to clean it properly. When you’re done, give your jewellery a rinse in a separate cup of clean water. Before you pour the water out, make sure that your item is intact and there are no stones left in the cup. If you have a hair dryer, use it on medium heat to dry any water residue off the stones.
